Ce site (www.kobayat.org) est stupéfiant, il y a non seulement une vision locale tres riche, toutes ces photos, ces liens, ces temoignages du patrymone du Nord-Liban sont formidables, mais aussi il contient des liens précieux vers d’autres merveilleux sites au Liban ; Merci pour ce brillant site qui n’a qu’un seul gros defaut je crois, celui de rendre jaloux tous les webmasters des autres villages libanais.

En tout cas moi ca m’a donné envie de faire un site pour mon village du Sud-Liban (Majdelyoun), des que j’aurais un peu de temps, et si tu me le permets, j’utiliserais qqune de tes presentations. Voilà Bravo encore.

Everytime i surf the net and check up the sites i fall in your URL and i don't close it cause it's just great, updates are faster than the 8 'clock news and pictures in the site are just superb, away from lebanon or from lebanon where ever we are we can always surf your site for comfort seeking & news updates.

Ramia je suis un commerçant à Lomé, où il y a environ 1500 libanais de toutes les régions du Liban. J'ai un frère en France il s'appelle Charbel, il a fait ses études en Droit actuellement il travaille là bas. Il est en France depuis 13 ans il a énormement d'amis. C'est lui, qui de temps en temps, m'envoie des journaux et des brochures ayant trait à la religion au Liban aux études supérieures etc...

La dernière fois il m'a envoyé un journal Valeur Actuelle dans lequel il y avait l'adresse d'un site web qui parle du Liban. Je l'ai consulté et j'y ai découvert beaucoup d'adresses interessantes dont celui de ma commune de Miziara. Mon ami de Kobayat me rend régulièrement des visites dans ma boutique à Lomé, je lui ai remis le site web de meziara et il m'a communiqué le votre. Il m'a même dit qu'il est votre ami, il vous connait bien. Comme je suis un FANA de l'internet je me suis mis à y naviguer et vraiment un coup de chapeau Elie vous êtes vraiment un génie en informatique car vous avez si bien incorpé les très belles images du Christ qu'il vous éclaire encore et toujours brave! et que Dieu vous bénisse, en espérant avoir votre message je vous salue.

To my village on this special day, To all those who are proud, coming from Kobayat, Eid el sayde : Saydet el Ghessalé 15th of August, is a special day for every one of us.

Beleive i remember year by year and day by day, each of those days i spent with the friends in « our village of dreams ».

I remember how we used to say goodbye to our parents from the beginning of august till the end of september.

Each summer had its pown beauty, his own souvenirs, his own joy.

All those sketches on the wooden theatre at the door of the church of the ‘Deir’…the camps we used to do in

a different area of our beautiful village.

Mouach, Mourghan, Laou’a, Nabe’e el Joz, Ein el Set, Nabe’e el Abiad, … and every moment spent in every forgotten corner of those hills, where the wind sings and the trees dance, and the nature behaves with madness, in a joyfull way, printing our memories with all those pictures, and good habits, loyalty and faithfulness, love and pride, religion and good behaviour of a boy-scout…

I’m proud i was brought up in a village like mine, Kobayat…

I come to the Kobayat site because I search for all Betros or Boutros in the net and have the most find in Kobayat. Before I had also look the pictures from Kobayat. I am so interested that I looked for any city or village from lebanon. Therefore I find the Kobayat site. This is really a very good site, really. With very many informations. I mean only that this site is the best lebanese website from a city or village. That is my truth. 

What you mean origin family? I only know that my great- grandfather comes from Beirut. But because he must go to germany in the first world war, he go about the neutral switzerland to germany. It could good be that his birthplace is therefore not right. But probably it is right. Do you know what religion is this family (maronite or greek orthodox)? Conserving and divulgating the appropriate image of our beloved Village is one of my priorities, and that's why I keep trying to capture it's beauty photographing it under a very challenging and dramatic light circumstances.

As an Amateur Astronomer I'm entering into the whelm of Astrophotography. Combining the best of our landscapes with the marvelous of our inky starry nights is one of my next projects which I would be honored to get it published within your web page.

Today we found out about your page.
My family comes form Kobayat (Gharbie), and we live in The Republic of Panama in Central America. They came to this country back in the 1950's.
Some 9 families from Gharbie are actually living in Panama, so as you may supose these site will help them a lot. I am a cousin of Joe Samaha (living today in Nigeria), and her mother is visiting us at the moment here in Panama.

Greetings from the United States. Please say hello to my friend Fouad Salloum and show him our famous Hunting Location. Log onto www.weaverbottoms.com  and you will see all of the hunting photo's from our duck and goose hunting trips.

Keep clicking on the buttons at the bottom of each page and you'll bump into my photo posing with Larry's son Gregory. That was a goose hunting trip where we place decoys in a corn field.

We do this in our spare time, during hunting season which is from October thru November. The man who built the website is my friend Larry Josephs and his son Greg, and our many other friends.

Minnesota, USA is very rich in all kinds of hunting. Ducks, geese, deer, turkeys, upland game birds such as pheasants and grouse.

It is also very rich in fresh water fishing. THERE IS NO "FIG BIRDS" here!! Only big game. We use only the .12 Gauge Shotguns here for hunting. I had an opportunity last fall to hunt deer and I used a big game rifle with a scope to shoot an 8-Point Buck Deer. That was my very first deer.

my grandfather was georges breydy and my grandmother hanud breydy, our house is still with the other breydys up the hill close to the hospital and my father is buried in our family´s tomb in qubbayat, maybe you remember now.

about the web: honestly i think there could be some things that i could tell you about the web:

Why do you still work with frontpage ? it does'nt write a clean html-source, a better choice is dreamweaver, available already in version 4. are you using flash already (also macromedia )it is definetly the best solution in adding animations and sound as it supports mp3 format. newesst version is flash 5. for flash there are tools available that make often used standard animations much easier to produce, like Swish.

About using html Generator from FP-Microsoft, it gives us for the moment the compatibility solution, with others sources as Java, because we use a very complex interaction with many Java software. We use a lot of Java scripts and applets in our pages as you see. So, FP-Microsoft is still for this moment the best compatible solution. I'm working now on macromedia and flash 5 for some subjects only, we will have the result of tests soon.

I do not know many people from the Kobayat, my relatives are mostly from Deir Jennine. However, the only connected relatives I have still in the Kobayat are the Bechara family. Most of the Ghantous left Kobayat to Brazil long time ago. I do not have any link with these people anymore. If you know anyone of them, please send their address to me (mail or email). I would like to give them a visit to add them to my family tree.
