dear friend in Lebanon.... I would like to congratulate you on the excellent work you did on kobayat .org. I have visited Kobayat several times, I find it like the rest of our Lebanon very gorgeous. I just love it, it is a piece of heaven on earth..
I introduced my American friends at work to it, showed them how beautiful Kobayat is. Another secret to tell you is tha my lovely wife Antoinette is from Kobayat, her parents are still alive and live there, so is her brothers and sisters. She the daughter of Mr and Mrs Tannous Shahine Tannous Gemaa in the Zouk area. Their house is next door to Abouna Hanna Beisary, the priest of Kaneeset EL_SAEDEH. Her brother Joseph has an automotive repair in the saha, her sister Therese married to Ibn George Shallita, her other sister Margo is the wife of Raymond Fares. She has also a recently married brother Edward Chahine. Her sister Marie married and lives in Beitroun....If you see them tell them we miss them and love them all....and Kobayat....the people of Kobayat.... And ALL of OUR SACRED LUBNAN.
By the way we live in Farmington Hills Michigan, USA. Please take some photos of the Zouk, the homes of the mentioned loved ones, them and their families. We plan to meet a Kobayatti his name Zaitoun, who lives in florida but works in Atlanta, GA. I hope to hear from you and GOD BLESS. |

First, let me congratulate you on this very well documented and interesting site. However, I would like to point out that in your History of the Maronite Church, you quote from the Catholic Encyclopedia and, therefore, all the facts concerning the modern period date from the year 1910 at the latest, hence the very low figures and words such as "vilayet" that have ceased to have any bearing on Lebanon since 1918.
