Patriarch Sfeir in South Africa

May 2008

Lorraine Antonie, ??, Patriarch Sfeir, ??

Hi Elie,

How are you?  How is your family doing?

We are all well.

I was having a look at your website and see you have a picture of the Patriarch.  He was here last week for the consecration of our church.  Myself and two friends had the honor of serving him, amongst other priests and the bishop, lunch.  The Patriarch also took part in the unveiling of our new statue of Mary (as the last statue was hit by lightening).

I’ve attached some photos for you.  I’ve also attached our church’s monthly newsletter for some interesting reading.

I look forward to visiting Lebanon again soon….for now take care and God Bless.

Kind Regards,
Lorraine Antonie

Dear Maronite Friends and Family

Please find the Maronite Memo – May Edition covering the best news from the past few weeks to the next few coming.

We have recently been privileged and overjoyed at the visit of our Maronite Patriarch, His Beatitude and Eminence, Cardinal Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir, Patriarch of Antioch and all the East. His visit has been a blessed, joyous and successful event. Have a peek into all he did and accomplished in South Africa with some beautiful photography – all inside the Memo. We would also love to hear your views and opinions about his coming and the Consecration of Our Lady of Lebanon, Mulbarton.

Also this month we have, and still will, celebrate some special days – hope you all have had a blessed Pentecost, and to our mothers, a Happy Mother’s Day. We can still look forward to the Most Holy Trinity Sunday this coming Sunday (18 May), The Body and Blood of Christ Feast and St Rita’s Feast (22 May), the Sacred Heart Feast and World Priest Day (30 May), not to forget that this entire month is consecrated to Our Lady.

Next month, we celebrate our 12th issue – our one year birthday! We appeal to the community in this issue to give a donation to the Maronite Church so that we can move provide both electronic and paper copies for the community. For more details, see inside the Memo.

We always appreciate your comments and suggestions, please send them to info@lebanesefamilyclub.co.za and don’t forget to subscribe your loved ones with us so that we can all share the good community news!!!
